Need suggestion backup exec

Dear Friends,
Today i use symantec product (Symantec Backup Exec Continuous Protection Server 10d) on our exchange server and running well. The question is:
- Could i use this product for full backup image (something like other product/acronis for example) so, if our server crash (need re-install), for minimalize configuration i just restore the last image backup
- If this product cant do that, what software from symantec should i choose for upgrade? it can do backup regulary (incremental,diffrential) and of course full backup to image like the first qurstion before.

Symantec Backup Exec 2014 Small Medium Business
I need a solution
I am running windows 2012 r2 and installed backup exec 2014 SMB on it. Later I installed my license SLF file on it. But it shows 58 of 60 days remaining.
Please help as i am in big touble.
I put the license on evaluation media.. some one told me that download the media from the license (fileconnect.symantec) and then put the license it would resolve the issue

All the file systems being included in the backup,are not being triggered
I need a solution
Hello All,
I have an issue with the Backup of Cluster Server. There are 22 file systems for each node . All the 22 streams are being triggered for one server. But only 16 streams are being triggered for the other server. This backup is successful. But the 6 streams which have not been started are being triggered at a later time( with a gap of 3 hours) and failing. I would like to know the reason why the 6 streams are not being triggered at the correct time.

ODBC access error in BE 2014

I´m getting lots of error messages that says: "ODBC access error. Possible lost connection to database or unsuccessful access to catalog index in the database".
And this is paired with this error message in the Windows event log:
Access to catalog index (Catalog index database) failed.
Reason: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot find either column "dbo" or the user-defined function or aggregate "dbo.fCatLogMsg", or the name is ambiguous. CCatRecordSet::Open

I would really like to get rid of this error.
Now, the backups works for the most part, but sometimes they hang and I relate that to the extreme amount of these ODBC error. If I then restart(often using Task Manager for the Job engine) the services the backups resume.
The server has been migrated from another BE2014SP1 server. And lots of other articles about this error seems to be related to an upgrade or migration. when I did the migration I followed a long guide to copy databases, catalogs and jobs and so on. It took me through some renaming steps using BEMIG aswell.
In my attempts to fix this I have run lots of option in the BEUtility to repair the database. I have also removed the Catalog folder and let BE recrate it, and populate it with fullbackups to start over. Everything I have done have worked without error messages, except that the ODBC error still pops up between 1-300 times a day.
What can be done?

how to manually mount a media
I need a solution
NBU 7.6.0.3
the media is present in the library. a pending RMAN restore is waiting for the media to be mounted. however, i can see in the device monitor that only one tape drive (i have two) is being used. the other tape drive have READY = No, Write Enabeld = No, Control = Active.
how do i manually assigned the media to this tape drive that is not doing anything?
right now in the activity monitor, the status of the restore is "Drives are in use (NetBackup HCART2)" although only one tape drive have a tape loaded.

Catalog exchange 2013 error V-79-57344-957
I need a solution
We have exchange 2013 and backupexec 2014
When running catalg for GRT we get following error on two of our six databases.
V-79-57344-957 - One or more messages were skipped because of a failure to enumerate the messages in the EDB file. Review the job log for more information.
No more information is provided so has someone any ideas?

Netbackup and hosts files
I need a solution
I have just taken over the netbackup administration from a guy who just left . I noticed the use of host files If DNS works correctly then there would be no need for fudges like HOSTS files, it’s not the 1980s. and we have a very large environment so makes it unscalable
Just curious to know how you all have it configured and how best to get rid of the hosts files

gerade habe ich auf einem Rechner Windows 8.1 Pro installiert und versuche nun System Recovery 2013 R2 zu installieren.
Nachdem ich die Installation gestartet habe erscheint ein Fenster mit Fortschrittsbalken. Wenn der Balken bei ca. 15 % ist verschwindet das Fenster urplötzlich und es tut sich nichts mehr. Fehlermeldung erscheint keine.
Folgendes habe ich schon probiert. Allerdings ohne Erfolg:

at a customer’s site I’ve a problem with a fresh installation of Backup Exec 2014. Every backup (full or incremental) always reports the following error: “An unexpected error occurred when cleaning up snapshot volumes. Confirm that all snapped volumes are correctly re-synchronized with the original volumes.”.
On this site I have three servers; the error is only generated for one of them. Here’s a short overview:
Server1: Windows Server 2012 R2, latest patchlevel, physical machine, Domain Controller and Fileserver. Backup Exec is installed on this machine, backup is written directly to SAS tape loader. There error is generated on this server.
Server2: Windows Server 2008 R2, latest patchlevel, virtual machine, running on Citrix Xen Server 6.2. Used for remote desktop services, no errors on this server.
Server3: Windows Server 2012 R2, latest patchlevel, virtual machine, database server with some SQL Instances, no errors on this server.
As I said, error is reported only on server1, no matter if it is a full or an incremental backup. During the backup I found the following errors is the event log (translated from a german system):

There are some articles about this error in the knowledge base or web which does not help or do not apply to my environment for example:
What I already have tried:
- Disabled Antivirus during the whole backup
- Installed Service Pack 2 for Backup Exec
- Rebooted the server
- vssadmin list writers do not show any errors
- consult eventid.net for other possible solutions
Anymore ideas from you guys?

NDMP restore fails but user thanked me for giving him the requested file. Hows that possible?
I need a solution
I kept retrying the restore but it failed in all 2 attempts then i recollected that in the past even after job failure in activity monitor the file was restored. This time i had no access to the restored/destination path so i simply tried to backup the restored file and to my surprise the job performed the backup successfully. Now this is quiet surprising. Do you know anything about this issue? I have done numerous NDMP restores but never saw such issue.

Hi.
I use Symantec backup Exce 2014 on Windows Server 2012R2.
When I try to add a new server to my backup jobs, then i got this error.: E00086CC.
After I have done the settings on this page: http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO80805 I got the E0009B61 Error.
I know the Username and password are correct (Administrator user) and are member in all the groups that's needed

SDR indicator goes OFF

Hello. I'm trying to make SDR backup of my 2008R2 file server. The server has 2 hard drives, C: (System) and D:(DATA, shared folders). If I de-select any of the folders on the disk D: the 'Simplified Disaster Recovery' indicator goes 'OFF'. Сan I create Disaster Recovery disk without selecting ALL folders on disk D? I have Backup Exec 2012 SP4. Thank You.

User stuck in Delete Pending state
I need a solution
Hi
I have a user that I'm trying to delete and they're stuck in "Delete Pending" state for the last few days.
I am in the process of deleting many users and had to manually delete some NUDFs to complete this task more quickly.
This user is the last one and I want to retire the storage location, but am unable to as it's stuck in "Delete Pending" state.
I have looked at the below article on how to delete the user from the DB:

But I am unable to locate the BEUTILITY feature to carry out this. Is there an updated document detailing how to do this?
Can I use the DLOcommandu feature?

I follow the example avalaible in the Help as follow:

Why the bind don't pass ?
I notice that for other selection type (vmware, sql, exchnage etc...) they pass in the "New-BEBackupDefinition" command an option related to the seltion type (like -VMwareSelection , -ExchangeDatabaseSelection or -OracleSeleciton) but no kind of -NDMPselection.
Somethings is missing or I miss somehtings ???
